Linux Infra-red Remote Control

Here's the circuit that I currently use.

The thing is connected to a 9 pin serial port.

DCD	PIN 1
GND	PIN 5
RTS	PIN 7

NOTE:	The 78L05 and the SFH5110 are shown from above. The 78L05 has a semi-round transistor like housing. There are flat 7805 with a metal plate at the back and I've heard that (Assuming that the metal plate where the round side of the 78L05 is.) their pinout is reverse. (thanx andrew)
	For me the SFH5110-38 works much better than the SFH5110-36. But that may be different for you and your remotes.
